Holophobia

The greater the split in our lives, the greater is the danger of falling apart; therefore, the greater is our fear. But the greatest fear of all is that of letting go of our fragmentation. We are afraid to be whole. In wholeness we have no more excuses, games, or struggles. Letting go of these life patterns is equal to losing on old identity with our problems. It’s the death of familiar strategies. Wholeness, on the other hand, is a new identity based on honesty and love and this is why we are frightened. True love demands that we let go of our emotional isolation. It follows us into every blind alley until we are one with its wisdom.

Over the years, we’ve seen many people who come to a point of spiritual peace only to disturb it again with trivialities. By exploring this issue with them, we found out that there was always a deeper fear of wholeness. We call this holophobia. Until we fully realize the state of being One, there will always be a coming and going from this state.
